Ch-changes
Taking a break from writing Alpha Curves (shh...quiet down...you'll get to run your hands all over Cade soon!) and doing some cover change ups. So here's an opportunity to sound off on whether you prefer flesh covers or if you don't think it plays into which books you look at as long as the cover isn't a trainwreck!

DeleteWell, your story descriptions and sample chapters give a pretty good feel of what is inside, but, yes the less explicit covers would risk a higher chance of shocking a an unsuspecting reader. I guess the next question is, do you want to deal with outraged reviews? Part of me wants to laugh but I imagine it could be a real downer for you, not to mention effect your ratings which I know can be pretty important.
DeleteYep, they can be pretty important as bad reviews can kill a book's sales and then I'd have to go back to having a day job and ~~shudder~~
DeleteMostly that's a worry for new releases, which don't already have a comfortable margin of good ratings. My next new release (after Alpha Curves) will be a cowboy foursome and the cover is soooo very very pretty - I will be sweating bullets the first couple of weeks after it releases exactly because of the potential for outraged reviews.

DeleteI love the old covers... However I search your name at least 2 times a month for new books, so no matter what cover you use I will always buy your books . I have every book you have written so far and would buy them without covers. Just love you as an author.
ReplyDeleteIt would be cool if Amazon and the other retailers had a way more than one cover would display and readers could select which cover (spice or sedate) they want sent to their reader. I'd love exclusive photoshoots with some achingly sexy guys and real BBWs. Of course, I would have to do extensive screen tests for the guys, but anything to keep the readers happy!
DeleteSorry-flesh wins every time! When I read, I step into the world I'm reading about-if the author is good. You, Lady are fan-freakin-tastic; but I digress. Seriously, sometimes the highlight of my day is that image while I read. I can't work up any excitement about a vase or hat unless Mr. Hunky R. Hunk is holding or wearing them!!
